Reformer Pilates at EXOfit Ballsbridge – Your Questions Answered
We’re delighted to introduce one-to-one Reformer Pilates at EXOfit Ballsbridge Dublin 4, adding another way for our clients to improve their strength, mobility, flexibility and overall health.
Reformer Pilates compliments our existing Personal Training and weekend Small Group Training services, giving clients another option to support their individual health and fitness goals.
Whether you’re completely new to Pilates or have previous experience, we’ve answered some common questions below to help you understand what Reformer Pilates involves and what to expect from a session at EXOfit.
1. What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a form of exercise performed using a specialised piece of equipment called a "Reformer".
The machine uses a moving carriage, adjustable springs, straps and a footbar to provide different levels of resistance and support throughout a variety of exercises.
Sessions can focus on developing strength, improving mobility, increasing flexibility, strengthening the core and building better body awareness.
One of the main advantages of Reformer Pilates is how easily exercises can be adjusted to suit different fitness levels, abilities and individual goals.
2. What are the main benefits of Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates offers a wide range of benefits, particularly for people looking to improve their movement and overall physical fitness.
Some of the key benefits include:
- Improved core strength
- Greater flexibility and mobility
- Full-body strength
- Better balance and coordination
- Low-impact exercise
- Improved movement confidence
Like any form of exercise, the benefits depend on your individual needs, the exercises selected and how consistently you train.
3. Why does EXOfit offer one-to-one Reformer Pilates instead of group classes?
At EXOfit, we’ve chosen to introduce Reformer Pilates as a one-to-one service, using a single Reformer bed rather than running larger group classes.
We believe there are some real advantages to this approach.
With just you and your instructor, every session can be tailored to your current ability, previous experience and individual goals.
Your instructor can spend more time teaching the exercises, making adjustments to your technique and selecting the most suitable resistance and movements for you.
It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions, learn at your own pace and build confidence without feeling the need to keep up with a group.
For someone who has never tried Reformer Pilates before, this individual attention can make the experience particularly welcoming.
4. Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. You don't need any previous Pilates experience to get started.
One of the benefits of having a one-to-one session is that your instructor can introduce the equipment, explain how it works and guide you through the exercises at a pace that suits you.
As you become more comfortable, exercises can gradually be progressed by adjusting the resistance, range of movement or complexity.
Whether you're trying Reformer Pilates for the first time or looking to build on previous experience, sessions can be adapted accordingly.
5. Can Reformer Pilates help with injuries, rehabilitation and mobility?
Reformer Pilates can be a useful way to develop strength, mobility and movement control, particularly when exercises are carefully selected and adapted.
The adjustable resistance and supportive design of the Reformer allow many exercises to be modified around individual limitations.
However, Reformer Pilates isn't a substitute for physiotherapy or medical rehabilitation. If you're recovering from an injury or managing an ongoing condition, it's important to seek appropriate medical advice and make your instructor aware before starting.
Our aim is to provide a supportive environment where clients can work on improving their movement and strength within their individual capabilities.
6. How does Reformer Pilates compliment Personal Training?
We see Reformer Pilates as a natural addition to the Personal Training service we already offer at EXOfit.
While Personal Training often involves exercises such as squats, deadlifts, presses, rows and other resistance-based movements, Reformer Pilates provides another way to work on strength, control, stability and mobility.
The two forms of exercise can compliment each other particularly well.
For example, someone who regularly strength trains may enjoy Reformer Pilates as an additional opportunity to focus on controlled movement, trunk strength and flexibility.
Equally, someone who starts with Reformer Pilates may eventually feel more confident introducing other forms of resistance training into their routine.
Neither service needs to replace the other. They simply provide different ways to work towards your fitness goals.
7. Where is EXOfit located, and why is it convenient for Reformer Pilates?
EXOfit is a Personal Training studio located in the heart of Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, making it a convenient option for people living or working in Ballsbridge and the surrounding areas, including Sandymount, Donnybrook, Irishtown and Dublin city centre.
Our studio provides a smaller, more personal training environment rather than the atmosphere of a large commercial gym.
With one-to-one Reformer Pilates, clients can enjoy an individually guided session in a familiar studio setting, whether they're fitting exercise in before work, during the day or around their existing weekly routine.
For anyone searching for Reformer Pilates in Ballsbridge or Dublin 4, our aim is to offer an accessible, welcoming and personal experience.
8. How much does Reformer Pilates cost at EXOfit?
We've kept our Reformer Pilates pricing consistent with our existing Personal Training packages.

5 Reformer Pilates sessions at €300

9. Why has EXOfit introduced Reformer Pilates?
Since opening EXOfit, our focus has been on creating a welcoming fitness community in the heart of Ballsbridge, where people can enjoy exercise, learn new skills and work towards their individual goals.
Alongside our established Personal Training service and weekend Small Group Training sessions, we wanted to introduce something that offered a slightly different approach to movement and resistance training.
Reformer Pilates felt like a natural fit.
It gives our existing clients another way to exercise while also welcoming people who may be looking specifically for Pilates, mobility work or a more individual introduction to resistance-based exercise.
Ultimately, we want EXOfit to offer a range of services that compliment one another, while maintaining the personal, friendly atmosphere that makes our studio what it is.
10. How can I try Reformer Pilates at EXOfit?
If you're interested in giving Reformer Pilates a go, our €30 introductory session is a great place to start.
You'll have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the Reformer, learn some of the basic movements and experience what a one-to-one session involves.
From there, you can decide whether you'd like to continue with our five or ten-session packages.
Whether you're new to Pilates, already enjoy Personal Training or simply want to try something different, we'd love to welcome you to the studio.
